com said it would hold a two-day “Prime Big Deals Day” on Oct. 10 and 11, ahead of the holiday shopping season. That follows a summer Prime Day sale held July 11 and 12.
The company held events on a similar time frame in 2022; last year’s October event was called the “Prime Early Access Sale.”
Amazon noted in an announcement that this year the Prime Day sales will extend to some partners who use the company’s Buy with Prime feature that extends free shipping and other features to other sites. Shoppers can already see some of the Prime Day offers on the company’s website.
Amazon’s online-store business has been showing some signs of strengthening after several weak quarters. Online sales were $53 billion in the June quarter, up 4% from a year ago. Street estimates as tracked by FactSet call for September quarter online-store revenue—including Prime Day—of $56.7 billion, up 6.1% from a year earlier.
On Monday, Amazon stock is 0.5% lower to $139.65. The stock is 67% higher for the year so far.
